Dissection

Dissect this heart of mine
 Leave it without suture
And pour inside in plenty
Honey, mercury and sulfur.

Remove the metastatic apathy
 That you had me infected
And the heavy flowing boredom
That keeps me in my home protected.

I stand ashamed and willing
To sacrifice you
On the altar of my ego.
As autumn's loving, cold embrace
Has laid to rest
So many seagulls.

Yet you're brave enough to stay alive
And I, no god to take away your love
So I'll practice my smile in the mirror
Until the day my soul will find another home .
