Here we are at the edge of a world,
with loneliness stretching out as far as the eye can see.
The heart hauls blood like a Chrysler engine.
Driven.
Energy drinks by day. Cocaine, by night.
After a while, the body heaves. The magic wears off.
Sense comes back to the senses.

One evening of sobriety
on the cold sidewalks of life
and you reclaim your sight.
Although, there is nothing to see.
The lights have made everything invisible.
